5 PROVERBS FOR BUSINESS

THE BIBLE HAS LOTS TO SAY ABOUT BUSINESS!

The Bible says a lot about business! If you are a Christian Entrepreneur or curious about what God says about running a business, check this out.
A successful business requires wisdom - the Book of Proverbs was written by the wisest man on earth: Solomon.

TIP: There are 31 Proverbs in the Bible. If you are new to reading the bible, one of the best ways to “start” having worship is to read the Proverb that corresponds to the day of the week. Miss a day? Don’t worry about “making up the missed day or days…that leads to overwhelm. Instead, simply pick up from where you left off. The Proverbs are full of wisdom!

PROVERBS 14:23

In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty.

Procrastinators take note! Basically, God is telling us that you can talk all day about what you want to do…you can dream dreams and talk a big game, but unless you actually do the stuff you will not get anywhere!

If you have ever heard me on stage at any of my keynote presentations, you’ve heard me start with the statement that “5% of the people in the room at any given conference will actually be the ones who actually implement what they’ve learned. The others will be inspired, but do nothing.”

PROVERBS 22:7

The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender's slave.

So you want to expand your business. Or, you want to quit your 9 to 5, and a loan would help you have “cashflow” for the six months you need to build it.

Best advice from the Bible? Do everything you can to avoid borrowing money.

Are there instances where you need to? Yes. But just remember, the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.

PROVERBS 10:26

Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so are sluggards to those that send them.

Who you work with, matters! Who you associate with, matters! If you are looking to expand your team, hire someone or become affiliated with another business, make it the right fit.

The people your brand associates with will affect you and those in your business.

PROVERBS 13:11

Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.

Basically, good, hard work is blessed. Get-rich schemes and dishonest business practice is not.

Dream big, do the work, get blessed.

PROVERBS 3:9-11

Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first fruits of your increase, so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.

Honoring God with your business and the first fruits of your business and He will bless your business.

This isn’t the only place the Bible speaks of honoring the Lord with possessions and increase. Basically, we are told that if we give, we will receive.
